Press service of the government of Kyrgyzstan reports that Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev met with foreign minister of China and asked for Beijing's support in mutually beneficial projects like construction of a railroad between China and Uzbekistan via Kyrgyzstan that was to become a part of the Asian-European transport corridor. Atambayev even suggested construction of the gas pipeline between Central Asia and China (negotiations over it are currently under way between Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and China) across the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Realization of these major international projects will do away with Kyrgyzstan's position of a dead end and make it a transit country.

The Chinese foreign minister assured Atambayev that Beijing viewed interaction with Kyrgyzstan as a priority and that it would spare neither time nor effort to see to it that the future gas pipeline was built across the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz and Chinese officials discussed bilateral contacts. They agreed that the Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation was in a great shape and pledged to facilitate it even more.
