Kazakh president's daughter and son-in-law among the wealthiest people in the world
The Forbes published its latest rating of the wealthiest people in the world. It includes - for the first time ever - some Kazakhs including the president's daughter and son-in-law and a banker.
Dinara Kilibayeva and her husband Timur Kulibayev (the president's daughter and son-in-law) are the 458th on the Forbes list. Each of the spouses is worth $2.1 billion. The Forbes lists them as owners of the People's Bank. The president's son-in-law became KazMunaiGaz CEO last year. His wife Dinara chairs the education trust named after her father.
The Kazakh part of the list is topped by Vladimir Kim of Kazakhmys whose fortune increased from $2.7 billion (the 116th on the list) to $5.5 billion (the 258th). In fact, five billionaires represent Kazakhstan on the list.
