Kyrgyz synopticians predict that the flow into the largest artificial water reservoir in the republic will be well below what it was in 2006 (13.6 against 16.7 billion cubic meters).

The situation being what it is, the reservoir may end up with only 7.5 billion cubic meters of water in it in 2008. Kyrgyzstan will therefore be unable to export electric power to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and, as a result, buy natural gas and anything else it needs in terms of fuel.
