The first reception center for refugees in all of Central Asia is to be established in Kyrgyzstan
The first reception center for refugees in all of Central Asia will be opened in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, today.
UN Commissar for Refugees Antonio Gutteres will attend the ceremony, and so will Aigul Ryskulova, acting head of the Kyrgyz committee for immigration.
Gutteres and his escorts (including director of the UN Regional Bureau for Asia and Pacific Region) will also meet with the president of Kyrgyzstan, acting foreign minister, prosecutor general, and chairman of the State Committee for Immigration and Employment. Development of a network of similar centers and asylums for refugees in Kyrgyzstan and throughout Central Asia will be discussed.
