"Elected and Empowered by the People," a book about President Gurbankuly Berdymuhammedov was published in Turkmenistan. The book is available in the Turkmen, Russian, and English languages. According to the presidential press service, the work introduces the new Turkmen leader and his policy (needless to say, aimed to develop independence of the country, improve its image in the eyes of the international community, and better its prosperity) to the reader.

The book begins with Berdymuhammedov's biography, his Inauguration Speech, and essay "Gurbankuly Berdymuhammedov's Political Portrait". The chapter titled "Potential of the State - for Man" is centered around the reforms Berdymuhammedov initiated in the spheres of social policy, education, science, health care, and sectors of economy.

Neither are international initiatives of the new Turkmen leader forgotten. The book contains materials on Berdymuhammedov's official visits to Saudi Arabia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, China, United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, on his participation in the summits of the Commonwealth and Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the 62nd Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, on negotiations with EU leaders in Brussels.

The last chapter titled "New Phase of Revival" gives a thorough account of Berdymuhammedov's address to the UN General Assembly.
