Russian Company to Build Hydropower Stations in Tajikistan
Russian joint-stock company Inter RAO UES to build three hydropower stations in Tajikistan, Asia Plus reports. A special memorandum was signed by both countries during the visit of the Russian President Medvedyev to Dushanbe.
RAO UES plans to erect Urfatinsky station on the Khingou River, Obburdonsky station on the Zarafshan River and Yavrozsky station on the Kofirnikhon River. The capacity of the biggest station is expected to be at 250 megawatt.
Special bilateral group will be set up to manage construction project.
